Post-Harvest Services in Agriculture | خدمات ما بعد الحصاد في مجال الزراعة
The post-harvest period is crucial for achieving a high-quality yield. Several factors must be ensured to guarantee abundant production, including:
- Securing an appropriate amount of moisture around the plants through regular irrigation, in accordance with weather conditions. In autumn, irrigation should occur every 5-10 days, in winter every 7-15 days, and in summer every 3-7 days.
- Ensuring that irrigation water does not reach the back of the plants during the fruiting period to avoid an increase in fruit rot.
- Due to the concentration of the strawberry plants' surface roots in the topsoil, it is advisable to provide an adequate amount of nitrogen fertilizers (75-100 kg of ammonium nitrate) monthly per acre.
- Foliar fertilizers are recommended to be sprayed every 3-4 weeks, with care taken not to mix them with each other.
- In the case of summer cultivation, flowering buds may appear shortly after planting, and they should be promptly removed to avoid detrimental effects on vegetative growth and crop yield.
